We got our 5 negative tests prior to (and one during) surgery...but we were informed by the Oncologist on Friday that there is one more test that will determine whether I need chemo. Honestly, this was a little bit of a letdown since I was pretty sure we were past that point already. The test we are currently waiting on is called oncotype and it's a genetic test of the tumor itself. Ideally, it will come back with a low likelihood of recurrence. If that is the case then there would be little benefit to undergo chemo and we would move forward with the plan for 5 years of hormone therapy. However, if it comes back as being likely to reoccur then there would be a much larger benefit to doing chemo. I'm hoping and praying those results come back with a low likelihood of recurrence.
Isaiah 40: 28-31 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
