The History of Rozzy Ridge

I was recently looking at Roz's race history and thought it would be fun to share with all of you.

His pedigree for those of you that are knowledgeable about those things...I am not.

He was sold at auction as a yearling for $7,000.

When looking at his stats you can see that he raced 15 times and earned $13,000.
If you break it down by year you can see that he started racing as a 2 year old and raced the most during his 3 year old year.

The details of where he raced, the dates, and how he finished are also available. It's interesting that he doesn't race from 6/16/95 to 8/17/96 and then from 8/17/96 to 8/31/97. I sure wish he could talk as it would be so interesting to know what he was doing during that time. He has an old bowed tendon and I wonder if that happened during one of the stretches of down time. I thought it was cool that he won his very first race and raced in a couple of local stakes races.

It's amazing to look back at his race record and think of all of the miles he has put on those legs.

All of the gallops down the beach

All the shows and ribbons won

All of the jumps

All of the trail rides

Planted in 1992, the year he was born.

And so many wonderful memories...

Not only is he a beautiful athlete but he has been a wonderful friend. He's not what he used to be, as his body has broken down with age, but I'm so grateful to be part of his journey.
