Let's Talk Bonnets

Along with my one bridle...I have one bonnet. I have used Emi's, when we are trail riding, to protect her from the bugs. So, how many bonnets do you have? Where do you like to purchase them from? When do you use them?

  1. Now that you bring it up, I have one that I bought last summer, and I don't know where it is! Obviously I don't use it, and I should, as it would keep the bugs from bugging Lance's ears.

  2. I have one...that I bought in a clearance bin somewhere. I almost never use it because I'm a hunter and trainer says if you can't show in it, don't ride in it, because he'll be that much more annoyed with the bugs of he's used to a bonnet. I still put it on to trail ride, though.

  4. Uhhhhh I cleaned out my trunk one time and had 8 bonnets in the trunk. not including the stash at home. I like KL Select for your basic, off-the-shelf bonnet. Lots of cute colors, lycra ears, and they hold up well. They cost like $25 which is pretty reasonable.

For custom, I've used FUN Bonnets (http://www.funbonnets.com/home.html). I've always ordered through facebook. She's based in Canada and has super reasonable pricing with quality products. The wait time is kind of a drag but worth it.

    You always need more bonnets.

  5. If the Bonnet Fits. She's on Facebook and is amazing! I believe that's where $900 FB Pony gets hers from too. I have three from Sierra and have gotten lots of compliments and she's super reasonable. I school in one in the summer when the bugs are nasty and save the blingy one for dressage at shows.

  6. Nilla gets really upset with bugs in her ears so I try to use a bonnet any time we trail ride. I also use them in the arena sometimes. I have two right now, but the supplies to make a third. And I make my own since no one sells them for mules.

  7. I'm super uncool and don't own any bonnets. We don't get bad bugs here and Midge has very floofy ears :)

  8. I too use FUN bonnets, as well as a collection of random bonnets I have gathered elsewhere. I really love the custom FUN bonnets though, made to your measurements with whatever colors and possible bling you would like! Yes, the wait time stinks, but it is so cool when they arrive.

  9. I'm absolutely not a bonnet person, but my experience with If The Bonnet Fits was really great and I love the bonnet I bought from her. Sierra is really great at answering questions quickly and making sure the colors and fit are just right. She's on Facebook.
